This is a simple, bottom-up raglan made from (exactly) one gorgeous skein of Wabi Sabi Yarns Tallulah Sock in "to be a fairy in a forest". The idea of tiny babies in grown-up style clothing cracks me up, so I added pockets to add to the overall grandpa look. (As if a baby needs pockets, ha!) I would have done elbow patches, too, but I ran out of yarn.

Absolutely adorable, Hilary! And isn't it often the case that newborn babies resemble little old grandpas anyway? Your little guy might enter the world with a head full of hair and a mouth full of teeth, but I doubt it... one thing's certain, though - he is sure to be ridiculously cute (especially in this sweater!).

Love the little pockets! And I can't believe you got a whole cardigan out of one skein - I was sat doing sums in my LYS for aaaages yesterday and ended up spending a fortune on 2 skeins for a cardigan for baby number two (which must be due at almost exactly the same time as your arrival!)
That is so so cute. You could do those elbow patches in some different colour - or even put some leather on it. Then he'll for sure be a sweet little grandpa.

I sewed my son several Grandpa bathrobes. I love to play with fabric linings to have some plaid peeking out from the collar and pockets.

Great sweater! I love babies in miniature grown up clothing! great choice. I think elbow patches in some brown fabric or felt would be great but it is super cute without.
