I've gone on before about how wonderful this knitblog community of ours is, and this is going to be yet another post singing its praises. A few weeks ago I received a surprise package in the mail from Larkin (previously of "the Lady Knits", she is now blogging personally at Larks Ferry and craftingly at colorful mess -- check 'em out!). And inside was this beauty:
It's Habitat by Jared Flood in Lambs Pride Worsted...isn't it gorgeous?! Inside the package also was a note explaining that every time she looked at the hat, she was reminded of my combo love for knitting and the San Francisco Giants and thought she'd send it along. Seriously! I think I hugged the hat and the note, practically brought to tears. She also apologized that it was "slightly short"...but I think it's perfect. And it goes very well with my Giants-themed sweater.
The hat made its debut at the Stitch and Pitch earlier this month to rave reviews.
THANK YOU again, Larkin! I hope I can thank you in person some day soon. (Oh, and yes, I am 100% one of those parents who dresses my babe in sports attire...I just can't help myself. :) )
P.S. Stay tuned for a little giveaway later this week!

You look as cute as Daniel! (And by the way, I'm glad to see Winston Churchill as a Giants fan).

Knitters never fail to amaze me with their kindness and generocity. It is a fabulous hat and you look great.
What a wonderful gift! I understand about dressing babies in stuff from your favorite sports teams. I bought some Lorna's Laces angora yarn in the Cubs colorway to make some booties for our little one. She'll probably be getting a few Cubs t-shirts, too. :)
the orange is so perfect with your sweater! (and we've got several Patriots/Celtics/Red Sox clothing in our little guy's wardrobe too :)
Yay!!! What a sweet post Hilary. :-)
I'm so glad it's getting used by the right person.
Fantastic hat! Now that's some serious fan attire. I love the braids, btw.
orange is one of my personal favs. I still love that sweater!! I am hatching an idea for one of my own...so many projects and so little time!!!
Well it's nice to "see" again :) You look fabulous in that hat ~ go Giants!!!! My Notre Dame fighting Irish are ranked to do well this college football season and I'm pretty optimistic ~
what a great gift!! It looks so cute with your hair braided like that, too.
