As promised, the pattern for Amande, a uniquely constructed vest with pockets and a cabled racerback. In chunky wool this is a quick project, but it's not a mindless knit; there are plenty of fun techniques in there (with added instructions and links) to keep you on your toes.
Amande- $5.00 via Ravelry (no account is needed)
Sizes: XS (S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL,4XL)
Finished Bust Measurements: 29 (32.75, 36.25, 40.25, 44.25, 49, 52.25, 56.5)”/ 73.5 (83, 92, 102, 112.5, 124.5, 132.5, 143.5) cm
Finished length from collar to hem: 24.25 (25, 25.75, 26, 26.5, 26.75, 27.25, 27.75)” / 61.5 (63.5, 65.5, 66, 67.5, 68, 69, 70.5) cm
Yarn Requirements: Cascade Yarns Ecological Wool (100% Wool; 478 yds / 437 m per 250g skein]; color: Black (8095); 1 (2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2) skeins or 465 (530, 595, 660, 725, 790, 850, 915) yds / 425 (485, 545, 605, 660, 720, 780, 835) m of a similar yarn
Needles: US 10 (6.0 mm) circular needles; 32-60” / 80-150 cm for the sleeves, 29-60” / 75-150 cm or size needed to obtain gauge
Gauge: 15 sts and 21 rows = 4” / 10cm in Stockinette Stitch
ERRATA:
2/11/12 -- An error was found in the waist decrease section, making the length from hip to waist slightly too long. This error was corrected in version 2 of the pattern and now reads:
Dec Row (RS): K to 3 sts before first marker, k2tog, p1, sm, ssk, k to 2 sts before next marker, k2tog, sm, p1, ssk, k to end – 4 sts dec’d.
Working in St st (making sure to p the seam st on the RS and k it on the WS), rep Dec Row every 2.25 (2.25, 2.25, 2.25, 2.75, 2.75, 2.75, 2.75)” / 6 (6, 6, 6, 7, 7, 7, 7) cm 2 (2, 3, 3, 1, 2, 2, 3) more times, then every 2 (2, -, -, 2.25, 2.25, 2.25, -)” / 5 (5, -, -, 6, 6, 6, -) cm 1 (1, -, -, 2, 1, 1, -) time.
Total sts: 64 (76, 86, 98, 110, 122, 132, 144).
Piece should measure 7.75 (7.75, 8, 8, 8.5, 9, 9, 9.5)” / 19.5 (19.5, 20, 20, 21.5, 23, 23, 24) cm.
The back and bits of the fronts are knit together to the underarms, after which they are split and worked separately to the top. Stitches are then picked up from one front and down the other and shaped with short rows.
Edges are finished with an applied i-cord that is worked as you go, which means the only thing you have to seam when you're done are the pocket linings.
A cool and casual vest, this is perfect for layering -- a must as the fall chill sets in.

It is indeed fabulous. I'm putting it way up in my Rav queue.
Is that a peach orchard?
